Jocelyn Greene is the proud Founder and Executive Director of Child’s Play NY.  She has been teaching and directing since 1998.  Before founding Child’s Play NY, she taught at Oddfellows Playhouse in Connecticut, Will Power to Youth in Los Angeles and Epic Theater Ensemble in New York.  Jocelyn is a member of Actors Equity Association and has performed at The Public Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre and New York Theatre Workshop among others. She is a member of Actor’s Equity and holds an MFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a BA in English and Spanish Literature from Wesleyan University.  With Child’s Play NY she has taught in scores of top-tier New York schools (i.e. Packer Collegiate Institute, Berkeley Carroll School, Avenues the World School) spearheading their after-school and summer arts programing.  She has designed residencies for schools from South Brooklyn to the Hudson River Valley. She loves directing Shakespeare with teens and re-inventing fairtales with 4-year-olds.  With Child’s Play in Action she turns her curriculum into video-tutorials for parents and educators.  Check out a Q + A with her here. Adaire Kamen – Teaching Artist

Adaire Kamen is a playwright and performer in New York City. She is a graduate of Fordham University Lincoln Center, and holds a B.A. in theater with a concentration in playwriting. She has been directing and teaching at a theatre camp in Texas every summer for the past four years, and has been babysitting kids of all ages for 9 years. Adaire also improvises at around the city with the improv team “Big Kitten.”  Her one woman show, #Adaire, performed at the United Solo festival.

Alla Ilyasova – Preschool Specialist

Alla Ilyasova is one very lucky duck. She was born on the shores of the largest lake in the world, and lives in the greatest city on Earth. She studied playwriting at The Actors Studio Drama School, and teaches playtime at the Vanderbilt Y. In addition to being an Early Childhood educator, Alla is a member of the Playwright-Director Workshop at the Actors Studio and an associate member of the Dramatists Guild. She has worked on several original plays and translations, devised and performed in some exciting New York productions, developed scripts with oodles of preschoolers, hunted dragons, built skyscrapers… and she is thrilled to be starting a new adventure with Child’s Play!

Amanda Lea Mason – Teaching Artist

Amanda Lea Mason is a Brooklyn based actress originally from Houston, Texas. Most recently, she performed in The Elephant Man on Broadway and The West End.  She holds a BFA from Boston University, where she taught and directed high school students at the BU Summer Theatre Institute. She also studied for a semester at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Amanda Shechtman – Teaching Artist

Amanda Shechtman is a Brooklyn based actor, comedian, voiceover artist, writer and musician. She worked with both large and small play groups as a co-teacher at Little Maestros all over NYC. She spent two summers at Williamstown Theatre Festival as a member of the Professional Training Program. Her voice has been featured in several national radio spots as well as the HBO animated short film “My Depression.” Amanda worked with Elizabeth Swados on many educational/children’s theatre projects while receiving her BFA from NYU Tisch and currently, she writes and performs with her musical sketch comedy group Pop Roulette monthly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.

Andy Mac – Musical Accompanist

Andy Mac is originally from Buffalo NY, and has now been performing and teaching in New York City for over a decade. A professional singer/songwriter, he has released three albums, had several songs placed on MTV and FOX, all while well performing over 300 shows a year all over the country.

Annalise Wedemeyer – Teaching Artist

Annalise Wedemeyer started working teaching theater in high school at a summer camp in her hometown of Palo Alto, California. She moved to New York in 2012 to attend Pace University and received her BA in Acting International Performance Ensemble. Annalise loves performing for children and last Christmas played “Raggedy Ann” in the Velveteen Rabbit, and “Tiwala the Turtle” in The Pond in the spring of 2015. In 2015 Annalise received her certification of TEFL-TP (Teaching English as a Foreign Language through Theater and Play) and spent the summer traveling Italy establishing English immersion theater camps. Currently, Annalise performs and teaches as a member of the theater company Girl Be Heard, as well as teaching with Marquis Studios in NYC.

Anne Troup is a professional actress and teacher.  She has credits off-Broadway and in television and film in Los Angeles as well.  She teaches music at The Village Nursery School, Shakespeare at The Public’s A Midsummer Day Camp, and Acting at the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp.  Anne has a BA from Brown University and an MFA from NYU’s Tisch Graduate Acting Program.

Brandon Zelman – Teaching Artist

Brandon Zelman is an actor, comedian and filmmaker from Brooklyn. He is a graduate of Fordham University at Lincoln Center. Brandon is a member of Story Pirates, performing stories written by children for the very children that created them. He was a theater director at Mill Basin Day Camp, as well as a Character Performer at Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square. Brandon is an improviser, with training from the UCB Theater, and can be seen around the city with his team, Hamford. Theater Credits include Woyzeck: The Human Experiment (The Mesh, dir. John Bezark) High Upon the Gallows Tree (Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Winner: Best Play 2012 Spring One Act Play Competition), and Talkback (Littlefield, dir. Niegel Smith.) Brandon has performed in the Aquatheater at the NY Aquarium, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America Banquet and the back of a coffee shop. He is also a founding member of Business Lunch Productions, producing dozens of projects, including BizLunch Sketch, a sketch program, that he writes, acts and produces.

Carolyn Holding is a New York based actor and teacher. Cindy Kay is an actor/writer/teacher in the New York City area. She comes from the great state of California, but has called New York her home for the last 6 years. Holding an MFA in acting from the Actors Studio Drama School, Cindy primarily teaches theatre across NYC with many organizations, Child’s Play being a joyous one of them. One of her favorite experiences was teaching arts enrichment last year in the city of Syracuse with Redhouse Arts. Cindy believes strongly in this work and that the arts teach us skills necessary to help us grow and be the best humans we can be.

Emily Stout is a Brooklyn-based actor and theater artist. She has been running a summer children’s theater camp in Colorado with her sisters since 2011, where she writes and directs short musicals for children from kindergarten-7th grade. Emily is a member of Actors Equity Association, and has performed in a variety of regional productions. She is also a member of the Brooklyn-based devising ensemble The Associates and holds a BA in acting and a minor in classical languages from Fordham University.

Prod Manager), Little Children Dream of God at the Roundabout (APM), Highbrow/Lowbrow at HERE (PSM), Found at Atlantic (APM), 23 Year Old Myth at Dream Up! Eryn Murman is a professional actor, singer, song-writer and choreographer in New York City.  She has worked on Broadway and in regional theaters across the country.  She has proudly been teaching with Child’s Play NY since 2010. Evan Sibley is a New York actor and graduate of Fordham University’s BA acting program. Prior to college Evan worked at his hometown theatre summer camp with kids aged 8-18. In summer 2015 he worked for TADA! Youth Theatre in Manhattan and after graduation started working with Child’s Play (who he has really fallen in love with). As an actor Evan has appeared in numerous productions in school and beyond and believes acting is not only an artistic exercise but a way to build better human beings.

Giana DeGeiso – Teaching Artist

Giana DeGeiso has been performing since the age of five in theaters on the West Coast.  Since 2010 she has been a performer and teacher in New York. She began teaching voice and acting lessons in her teen years in Reno, Nevada and has continued until the present. She has an extensive background in improvisation performance in New York as well as teaching adults and children in after school work shops and coaching independent teams.

Kelly Schuster is a performing and visual artist and arts educator who values creative play, collaborative storytelling, and celebration of difference! She grew up in Indonesia and Singapore and received her BA in Drama from Vassar College. She has taught in Singapore, Mumbai, Normandy, Poughkeepsie and has worked and trained in NYC as a teaching artist with the Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), Marquis Studios, and Recess DUMBO.

Kelsey Kurz is a New York actor, singer, and fight choreographer. He has acted on and off-broadway, and with regional theaters around the country. He has developed fights for NYFringe plays, films, and Shakespeare at the Juilliard School. Kelsey has been teaching acting and combat for the past four years in New York and at workshops around the country. A member of SAG and AEA, Kelsey holds a BFA in Acting from the Juilliard School.

Laryssa Schoeck is back in New York after completing her MFA in Acting: The British Tradition at the Birmingham School of Acting in England. She received her BA degree in Theater Arts and Musical Theater from Marymount Manhattan College. Laura Bozzone has traveled all over the country acting and teaching theatre for the past eight years. She holds a BFA in theatre arts from Hofstra University and some of her favorite places to perform in the past have been at Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Storm Theatre, National Theatre for Children, Hammerstein Ballroom and Lost Nation Theatre. Laura is also a teaching artist with George Street Playhouse. While acting in the repertory company at Alabama Shakespeare Festival, she was also the head voice and speech for their summer camps

Laura Brenneman – Vocal Coach

Laura Brenneman is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter.  She started singing at 2, and began formal piano lessons at age 6.  In addition to her work with Child’s Play NY,  Laura has been a teaching artist for Theatreworks! USA, the Children’s Theatre Company, Packer Collegiate Institute and the Berkeley Carroll School.  She teaches piano, voice, and songwriting at her studio in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.

Lauren LaRocca is an east coast native, and a professional actor and theater artist who first began choreographing and directing children’s theater over eight years ago. She has worked Off-Broadway and regionally, and recently received an award for Overall Excellence in Acting in the NYC Fringe festival. She is a founding member of the Brooklyn-based devising ensemble The Associates, and holds a BFA in Drama from New York University.

Leslie Gauthier is an actor, writer and director. She’s worked as an actor on stage and in film in New York and regionally at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and in CT. Her play 23-Year-Old Myth was produced as part of the Dream-Up Festival. She’s directed for Amios Theatre Company and the United Solo Festival (Best One-Woman show; Audience Choice Award). Leslie is contributing teammate to SPACE on Ryder Farm and a yoga and ukulele enthusiast. She holds a BA in Theatre from Fordham University with a double concentration in acting and directing.

Meghan Grover is a Cleveland, OH native and a recent graduate of the Guthrie Theater BFA Acting Program. As a performer, her favorite roles have been Jasmine in ‘Earthquakes in London’ with the Guthrie Theater and Thomasina in ‘Arcadia’ at the Mamai Theater Company. In addition to performing, Meghan loves teaching and has worked with Shakespeare on the Sound, the National High School Institute, Children’s Theater Company, Youth Performance Company, Wingspan Arts, and Cypress Hills.

Michael Hunter – Music Director

Michael Hunter has had a long and diverse musical career.  Classically trained in piano since the age of 5 and a graduate of Cornell University’s music program, Michael’s professional career has covered a wide range of genres and instruments; everything from playing drums in metal bands to accompanying musical improv troupes on piano and writing/performing string arrangements for studio recordings.  He recently released a solo album called “A Chance to Shine” for which he wrote all the music and played all the instruments, more information on Michael can be found at his website: MikeHunterMusic.com

Michael Patrick Kane is a professional actor, Puppet designer, teaching artist who lives in Bushwick. He holds an MFA in acting from The Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. Olivia Dunn is a Brooklyn-based actor, singer, and movement artist. She has performed in a variety of regional theatres along the east coast and performance spaces in the NYC area. Olivia is a certified yoga instructor for all ages and levels. She teaches vinyasa and hot yoga for Yoga to the People in Brooklyn and Manhattan as well as for small corporate groups and privates all around the city. She also enjoys teaching dance to young children at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn. Olivia holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Siri Hellerman – Teaching Artist

Siri Hellerman is a Brooklyn based actor, voice over artist and teacher. Before moving to New York, she toured extensively with the National Theatre for Children and Youth Performance Company, teaching kids about issues such as bullying, water conservation and staying safe around electricity. Siri is also the voice of Millie the Monkey in the newly released educational iPad app “Learn With Homer”. She holds an MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama.
