When appropriate, we help select monologues that are unique and fit their individuality.

Coaching involves guiding the student to strong clear choices and helping them to intellectually and emotionally connect to the text. Vocal and movement work are an integral part of the session. Rooted in the philosophy of Child’s Play NY, these coaching sessions are as playful as they are productive!

Child’s Play NY offers two tiers of private coaching:

“Our son worked with Marchánt Davis for on-camera preparation for a commercial role. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Marchánt, Child’s Play, Jocelyn and their never-ending and top-notch support. Our child has a passion for acting but came to this audition with limited experience. We as a family and he as an actor felt completely taken care of by Marchánt and Child’s Play. The ‘industry’ can be very intimidating, so it’s been important for us as parents to focus our son’s energy on the creative work that he is doing rather than the competition. Marchánt not only made the audition tape about ‘the work’ and a ‘slice of life,’ but also provided so many valuable insights without which we are 100% sure he would not have gotten a callback. We are incredibly grateful for Marchánt and Jocelyn’s expertise and low pressure way of getting results that far exceed expectations.”

“Working with Jocelyn on my middle school audition made me feel so confident I volunteered to go first! She also helped me figure out how to do a cold reading and that was fun.”

“Our daughter participated in Child’s Play NY productions and had such a positive experience. When her schedule wouldn’t permit her to continue with the class, we continued with monologue coaching. Anne was a wonderful coach! She was warm and friendly, and personalized the monologues to make it fun. They worked together on Shakespeare as well as more contemporary work. My daughter also appreciated that Anne took her seriously and treated her work with respect.”
