Jungle Book

September 19, 2018 – for ages 3-6

Swing into the jungle with us as we explore the characters and songs from this Rudyard Kipling classic. Guard the wolf den from Shere Khan, dance like Mowgli the man-cub, and sing about the Bare Necessities like Balloo.

Camp runs from 9a-12p and meets at 193 Columbia Street in Carroll Gardens.

Shakespeare in Play: Romeo + Juliet

September 19, 2018 – for ages 7-11

Students will learn the plot of Romeo & Juliet and act out the salient points of character and plot through long-form improvisations. They will also work on short passages and scenes from this play. Games surrounding the characters and their incredible conflicts, desires and stories make the class an incredibly joyous exploration of both theater and Shakespeare.

Camp runs from 9a-3p and meets at 121 Pierrepont Street. Cost – $140/child

Alice in Wonderland

October 8, 2018 – for ages 3-6

Join us as we venture down rabbit holes and through the looking glass. The Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and the Jaberwovky are some of the extraordinary characters that inspire our own adventures based on Lewis Carroll classic tale. At Mad Hatter’s tea party we’ll play a wild game of musical chairs. We will “make” a delicious drink and cake and then grow shrink and grow! We’ll play an adventurous game of freeze-tag among the roses in the queen’s garden.

Hogwarts School

October 8, 2018 – for ages 7-11

Join us as we use the “magic” of theater to explore this Wizarding World. Kids will get to hone their writing and improv skills as they create short plays based on their favorite iconic characters or imagine new ones in this magical world. In addition to the acting work, we’ll play games of Quidditch, make spell books and compete for the House Cup. Jump on your Firebolt and let’s play!

Camp runs from 9a-3p and meets at 121 Pierrepont Street. Cost – $140/child

Schoolhouse Rock

November 6, 2018 – for ages 3-6
Election Day may mean school is off, out but at Child’s Play NY, Schoolhouse Rock is on! In his half-day camp, we’ll be singing songs from the Emmy Award-winning show encorporating math and civics lessons through music.  We’ll learn all about grammar on our train ride at “Conjunction Junction”; design an obstacle course so our bill can become a law (“I’m Just a Bill”), and blast off into space with “Interplanet Janet”!  Join us on this special day as we learn through music and play!

All proceeds from this camp will be donated to RAICES, a nonprofit that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families and refugees in Central and South Texas.

Camp runs from 9a-12p and meets at 232 Carroll Street.

Improvaganza

November 6, 2018 – for ages 7-11

Having fun, making funnies, and working together to build a limitless adventure: that’s what improvisation is all about. Together, we’ll build the tools to think on our feet, discover silly games, and create a fully realized show with no script to hold us back! We’ll be developing improv skills as a powerful social tool and an opportunity to expand our knowledge of the stage.

Music Man

November 19, 2018 – for ages 3-6
Grab your trombone and adventure with us to River City, Iowa as we join up with The Music Man and play in his delightful band!  Celebrate the power of imagination and positivity as we make our own music and learn some of the iconic songs from the classic show.
We’ll play hide and seek in Marian’s “library”, sell products as if we were fast-talking traveling salesmen, and create our own instruments for the band!  Jump on the Wells Fargo Wagon and join us for a morning of play in this delightful musical comedy!
